This Guide is recommended reading for the ICEA certification program.) This workshop is
designed to offer basic training and to strengthen education skills for
the childbirth educators, nurses, prenatal instructors, and others
working with the chi ldbearing family. Attending the entire workshop
will meet the contact hour requirements for ICEA Childbirth Educator
Certification. Topic of the Workshop Include: Dynamics of
Group Learning, Learning Styles of the Adult Learner, Teaching Healthy
Lifestyles, Strategies for Teaching Nutrition & Exercise in
Pregnancy, New and Fun techniques for Teaching Normal Labor, Hands on
Experience for Teaching Relaxation and Labor Positions for the Birthing
Woman, Summarize Labor Support Research, Discussion of Latest Research
of Second Stage Labor, Identifying Resources for Breastfeeding
Information to New Parents, How to Teach From a Risk - Benefit Point of
View, Discussion on Curriculum Development and much much more.
